“Update to your answer: The differential never had any actual damage, and yet they suggested it needed a complete rebuild when it didn't actually need to be rebuilt, Thank goodness I didn't give authorization. The sheer skirt makes me uncomfortable. Before agreeing to let them install the piece, We asked Nick what would happen if the problem wasn't fixed once the part was installed. He said he would talk to the service manager to request a refund and have the part removed,When I asked for a refund, they flatly refused, even though they knew perfectly well that they hadn't solved the problem, which I had solved myself, In the end, I was left with a $1582 investment in a vehicle I never needed. As a mechanic, I warned them from the start that the actuator motor was perfectly fine since I had tested it myself, but they ignored me. They kept my vehicle for over a week, only to force me to pay $1,500 for a new actuator that did NOT fix the problem. In the end, I was left with a very expensive part that my truck never needed, making it a completely wasted investment.
After that, they started guessing: they blamed an aftermarket Android screen, making me waste time swapping it back to the original, and the error persisted. Their "final solution" was telling me I needed to completely rebuild the differential for $4,000 in parts, not including labor.
Frustrated and tired of them guessing at the expense of my wallet, I took my vehicle home. There, it took me less than 10 minutes to find the real issue: a differential bolt was in the wrong position, leaving the calibration out of range. I adjusted it, recali”
