Salesman was great, but the car was not ready to be sold. The battery was dead and when we took it for inspection, the tires were totally shot and a check engine light and a cracked wheel. The one tire was delaminated and unsafe to drive, and they sold me the car that way, telling me it was in great shape, needed nothing and was good to go. The check engine light required a $4,000 repair at a Mercedes dealership. The failure mode was the crank case vent valve Mercedes part numbers 270-090-07-00, 0029901303, 203-994-20-35. This part usually fails under gradual deterioration, and the check engine light came and went immediately after purchasing the car. I have every reason to believe that this crank case vent valve problem came up for the prior owner who traded it in rather than deal with an expensive repair and then the car was sold to us as-is. The thing is that I went to this dealer because they had a $3,000 car for sale. I had been talking to the salesman about that specific car for a couple days and told him I was driving from Central Pennsylvania to get it. When I arrived they had sold the car that morning even though I told the salesman I was coming out. (I told the salesman I was on the way AFTER the car was sold and he didn't give me a heads up that it was already sold) So despite my frustration, I decided once we got there... instead of a fixer upper, why not get my son a really nice car? And they sold me this CLA 250 Mercedes which was supposed to be all perfect and ready to go. Instead of hassle free driving, I had to put a battery in it, a brand new set of tires, get the wheel welded and replace the crankcase vent valve. So I dumped about $5,000 into this "ready to go" car right after the purchase. I've been in touch with the dealership multiple times and sent them receipts and they never did anything to help me out with it. There's something else wrong with the car where it's using copious amounts of fuel and getting horrible gas mileage. Seems
